Guest Post: Celebrating All Hallow's Read with Diane of A Spot of Whimsy

I'm so delighted to be hosting Diane of a spot of whimsy here at Literary Inklings today! Di's blog is one of my favorites; her creativity, style, and charming voice never fail to inspire and entertain. Many thanks to her for sharing this wonderful guest post!

Hello, Literary Inklings Readers!  I'm Diane of a spot of whimsy, and am excited to be here today to celebrate the fabulous Neil Gaiman.

I have written about Neil so many times on my own blog, I might be a certified fan girl at this point.  But the man just has a way with words (favorite books: Stardust, Neverwhere, The Graveyard Book, Coraline) and such an ability to inspire.  My favorite of his projects is the creation of All Hallow's Read, which began in 2010 with the passing thought:

"you know, there aren't enough traditions that involve giving books."

hope you think about taking up the challenge this year!
Want more Neil?  This video and this video are both excellent introductions to his magic.  And my previous Neil-inspired posts:

Diane wishes she lived in a Nora Ephron movie (and sometimes pretends she does), hates talking on the phone (to the dismay of her mother), is happiest on a boat in the middle of a lake, sneaks in pleasure reading on the bus to work, and is in love with a boy she calls C.  Diane lives in Chicago and hails from Pure Michigan.  Come say hello over on her blog a spot of whimsy, say hi (less characters) on twitter @aspotofwhimsy, view photographic evidence of her day-to-day life on instagram user: @aspotofwhimsy, and what’s inspiring her lately on pinterest @aspotofwhimsy.  Thanks for reading her thoughts here today, and Diane thanks Casee Marie for having her.
